Richard Endo
After 6 years of reduced activity and four more years of almost no physical activity, Rich's body had started to deteriorate. His doctor even advised him not to lift anything heavy. He was unable to carry his daughters except for the shortest of times. He sadly accepted it as a sign of aging.
Then he saw a kettlebell at his brother-in-law's house. Four years earlier, a training partner had introduced him to the ball of iron. He decided it was time to give the kettlebell a try. After starting the RKC system of kettlebells, Rich quickly regained strength and resiliency. After seven months of training, he decided to take the RKC Certification course at UCLA. Five months later he was certified at the UCLA RKC course.
Rich has been unusually fortunate to have trained under some exceptional instructors:
- Trained with Dr. Mark Cheng both in private and group kettlebell lessons.
- Over 100 hours with Patrick Strong in Core Jeet Kune Do.
- With almost 1,000 hrs of training with Pete Jacobs. Rich Endo is one of four instructors certified by Pete Jacobs in Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do.
- Wrestled 3 years in High School (2x Varsity Team Captain, League Champion, 3rd in Orange County)
- Coached in Freestyle Wrestling by Wrestling Hall of Fame Coach, Frank Horpel
- At the age of 15 received a shodan in Shito-Ryu from Fumio Demura.
